Birnen, Bohnen und Speck (pears, beans and bacon)

‘Pears, beans and bacon’ is a traditional dish from Hamburg in Germany, which is already very old. To prepare it you take  400g of potatoes and cook them. At the same time take 400g of marbled bacon and cut it into pearfact, fine slices. Chop one onion. Put the bacon and onion into a pot, cover it with water and let it cook for twenty minutes in low temperature. Take out the bacon. and wrap it in aluminium foile to keep it pearfactly warm. Take 400g of beans and put into the hot water with the onions. Add salt, pepper and summer savory into the pot. Let it all cook for 15 minutes. Take 400g of pears and put them into pot as well. Let them cook for 10 minutes. Then add the bacon again into the pot. Chop persil and put it into the pot.

Now the ‘pears, beans and bacon’ can be served. This is a Pearfact dish for those who like it traditional and tasty!
