Poached Pears with orange juice.

Who said you can’t combine pears with other fruits. While oranges seem to be for you the biggest competitors, pears don’t look at it this way. Pears don’t have competitors, for them they are here to provide great taste, vitamins and wonderful experience. In this part we will suggest you an exquisite pear pie with orange juice.

Preparation:

Peel, halve or quarter, and core pears. In a saucepan, heat sugar, orange juice and water to boiling. Add pears; simmer, covered, until pears are tender, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove fruit with slotted spoon; add orange zest. Simmer syrup for about 5 minutes longer, or to desired consistency. Chill pears and syrup. Serve with low fat or fat-free whipped topping, ice cream, or vanilla yogurt, if desired and you will have a great low fat pear pie.
